N5945Z is a 1964 Piper Colt PA22-108
one of a series of planes known as a Piper Shortwing.
This is one of the last
PA22 planes built by Piper Aircraft Co. ( there are about 30 serial
numbers higher than 45Z.) The Colt is a 2 place version of the better
known 4 place Tripacer and was built with a 108 horse power engine,
This plane has an O290-D 125 horse power engine from a Tripacer.

Update 2010 We used up the O-290 engine and found that the crank was out of limits.
We found a O-235-C1 and installed it ( I sure do miss the extra horses on a hot day)
